Christmas 2011

Merry Christmas !!
We had a blast with my mom and dad. Mema even took us to the beach. Dylan had so much fun. She probablly would have jumped in the water if we would have let her. Haha.
It was a great trip. I feel very blessed and grateful. I hope your holidays were wonderful as well. Now...onto the New Year! #2012

Home for the Holidays!!

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!!!!!
I am soooooooooo excited! We are finally going to be able to spend Christmas with my family in NC. It has been 13 years since we have spent the Holidays with them. My kids have never been to their Mema and Papa's for Christmas. I can not wait. The hard part is figuring out how to pack the car with all of the presents. (It is an 18hr drive!)
It will be so nice. We usually visit them in the summer for a few weeks since they live on the coast. I am so thankful to my husband for surprising me with this trip. The best present ever!
I finally get to go "Home for the Holidays!!!"

Our New Home!!

My apologies for not posting in such a long time. The last few months have just been crazy. I haven't really even been entering any contests. I know...that's crazy for me huh?

Well, it's hard to worry about contests when you aren't even sure where you are going to live. But, thanks to many prayers being answered by an awesome Heavenly Father, this past Friday we finally closed on our new home. We are super excited and truly grateful! Now, onto the packing. (Uh-oh, there went some of my excitement...haha!)

I have lots of plans for this house so, most of my upcoming posts will be on home decor and organization. I can not wait. It has been 7 years since we have owned our own home. Woohoo!!

Saturday was my daughter's 4th Birthday. We have never had a "real" party for her (other than cake and family members) so... this year I decided she was going to have a real party and invite her friends. We decided to have it at Build A Bear . It was so fun. The kids all had a blast !
I didn't have to cook or clean or chase 9 kids was awesome. I read different reviews about parties at Build A Bear...some were great, others were not. I personally thought it was so easy , and worth the money. I wanted the kids to have a good time, so I made sure that each kid would be able to pick the animal of his or her choice and get an outfit for it. The party lasted about an hour and thirty minutes. I also had made little treat bags for the kids to take home. The staff worked really well with the kids...including a really cute "a tooty tot" song. They also made sure everyone stayed within the pre set budget. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy. Plus my daughter was so happy...that is what made it the best!! Enjoy some pictures below.

Homemade Birthday Present

My daughter was recently invited to her friend's 4th Birthday party. I could have gone to the store and bought something off the shelf...easy peasy. However, I have been wanting to craft lately so, I decided we would make her a present instead. Voila..her very own matching game. I think it turned out really cute. I hope she likes it.

We're back... after 22 days of travel and vacation we are back home. We had a great trip this year. I always love visiting my parents and especially spending time with my mom. I wish we lived closer to them. It is always sad to say goodbye, but I must admit it is nice to be back in a routine again. I am also excited to be back online. The break was nice...and I know, I could've gone to the nearest Barnes and Noble or McDonalds for free WiFi access, but I have been too crazy with all the contests, twitter parties, and giveaways lately, that I needed to make myself stop. The break was nice.
We did so much!! Our first stint was a couple of days in Louisiana. Then we drove the over 1200 mile trip to NC. We did the beach a lot, ate out...a lot, shopped...a lot, got bit by misquitoes...A LOT! It was nice to just laugh, relax and have a great time. We bought this huge bubble wand and the kids loved it. It really did make the most amazing bubbles. We also visited the Maritime Museum in Beaufort, NC and I learned about my Great Great Grandfather who was a captain of a Menhaden ship. I also had my very first spa day. It too was so nice. I was able to treat my mom, myself, and my daughter to a manicure and pedicure. My daughter loved it. It was so cute seeing her in the chair. She was just grinning like the Chesire cat the whole time. My parents also did a birthday cake and presents for both of the kids since they don't get to see them on their actual birthdays.
Oh and did I mention how awesome my hubby is?...He bought me my first iPhone 4. I love it but, I am still slow at using it. Oh well practice makes perfect right...or atleast faster!
I have included some highlight pictures below. It all went by so fast. We are already planning next year's vacation. Can you say "It's a small world after all?"

Out of touch... We are still having a great time on vacation.
I am, however, going through withdrawal symptoms since
my parents do not have internet service! I will be back in action
in a couple of weeks. Hope everyone is having a great summer!!!

Happy Birthday to ME!!

Well, It's official... today I am the Big 4o!!
It's crazy...I don't feel forty.
But then again, I am not sure what being forty should feel like.
I guess most of us don't feel our age.
I just hope I don't look it. lol

The Law of Attraction

This is what I get for telling my daughter..."You're gonna end up breaking your arm if you don't stop jumping on the bed."

So, I started telling myself, "You're gonna win the lottery! You're gonna win the lottery!" Then I have to actually play the lottery to win. Shoot!!!

Pain Pain Go Away!!

Sorry I haven't been posting anything lately. I honestly have just not felt like it. Especially these last 2 weeks. I had a tooth that needed a crown (well actually I have several, but this is about my first one ever) so I go in last Monday to get the crown put on my very back top left molar. (let me preface this by saying... yes, my tooth had some decay and No it had not been bothering me prior to this visit). Now the dentist begins to prep the tooth for the crown and decides there is a lot more decay than he had originally thought. UH OH..But continues to work and even got the decay that was trying to move into the gums. He has some kind of machine that can make the crown right there in his office, so they fitted me for the permanent crown that day. I was just happy that he didn't say he needed to do a root canal after all and we could just go with the crown. I was happy until I went to pay and the bill was $300 more than I was originally told. $900 for 1 crown. (and that is with an in network dentist and my policy covering 50%. ) I was told the extra 3oo.oo was for the material they use to make the crown..that the insurances don't cover it. I told her it would have been nice to know this upfront because I would have opted for the lab to make it and to just wear a temporary crown until my permanent was ready. Luckily , we had the money...whatever it's done. Then 2 days later , I wake up in the middle of the night with the worst pain in my mouth that I have ever had. I mean it hurt. Oh great I thought here we go. I kept hoping it was just the gums and to let them heal. I looked everything up online and it all pointed to I would probablly need a root canal after all. AUGGGGHHHH. So on Friday, I finally call my dentist office and find out they are not open until Monday morning. I left a message saying I needed to see him on Monday. During this time my ear is now throbbing as well as the entire left side of my face. I just wanted to cry because if I did need a root canal that would be another $600 right after the $900 for the crown . NO wonder people don't like to go to the dentist. Also, during this time, my 3 year old daughter has some sort of stomach virus and is also having major sinus and allergy issues as well. So, Monday finally arrives. I go back to the dentist and they take another x ray then I am told they do not see any signs of decay or trauma to the tooth that would be causing me this much pain. He also checked my "bite" and everything was fine. I told him about the earache and about my sinus' hurting too. He wrote me out a prescription for the Z pac and said If I had some sort of bacterial infection...this should clear it up. Also, if my sinus were infected it could definitely make me feel like I had a toothe ache. Well, I thought at least they are not saying I need a root canal. So I went to Target, got my prescription filled and finally now after about 32 hours...I can feel some relief. I do believe I have a major ear infection but the Z pac has helped take some pressure off of my sinus' and I can tell my tooth is now not the main cause of my pain. I am going to try and see a family doctor tomorrow just to make sure I don't need anything else for my ear. It still hurts pretty bad..but not like I could rip it off to stop the pain. So, that is where I have been the last two weeks. I hope I feel like myself again soon . I haven't been much fun to be around and I want to make it up to my family.

Just a random picture of mommy and daughter.
I am very grateful that I have the opportunity to stay home
with her everyday. She teaches me a lot ...about me.
Hopefully, she will remember the things I am trying to teach her too.
Most of much I love her and how blessed I feel to have her in my life.

Happy New Year

Happy New year!!!

I hope everyone has a great year. We tried to end 2010 and start 2011 off fun for the kids. We got a room last night at the Marriott here in Dallas. We didn't tell the kids until we were on our way there. We picked the Marriott because they had an indoor pool. The kids loved that. They got to swim on New Year's Eve , then we went out to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner. We were playing the "buzz trivia" games while we were there. My son and hubby loved that. It was fun watching them try to guess the answers. After everyone was full, we headed back to the room for a fun game of Monopoly. It was a great New Year's Eve.

New Year's Day brought a great breakfast with waffles, cereal, omlettes, sausage, bacon, apple danishes, milk, hot cocoa, and orange juice...oh and yogurt!

Of course..the kids had to get in a little more swimming before we checked out and drove the 15 minutes back to our home.

I hope your 2011 is a great and blessed year !
