Mama’s Holiday Wish List Meme

Mama’s Holiday Wish List Meme
TodaysMama and GameStop are giving away a sleighful of gifts this holiday season and to enter I’m sharing this meme with you.

1. What is your holiday wish for your family?
My Holiday wish for our family is that we always remain as close as we are today and
never lose sight of that which is most important...family!

2. What is your Christmas morning tradition?
The kids usually get up early to see what Santa has left them under the tree. We also like to have french toast and hot cocoa for breakfast.

3. If you could ask Santa for one, completely decadent wish for yourself, what would it be?
I would ask for a shopping spree at J Crew or Banana Republic. I love their clothes.

4. How do you make the holidays special without spending any money?
We have fun decorating the house with the kids, baking treats to give to friends, playing games,
and just spending time together.

5. What games did you play with your family growing up?
We played a lot of board games growing up. I loved the Game of Life and Clue. We also had an
Atari that I thought was so awesome. Oh yes, and Simon...remember that one? Uh oh...I'm showing my age.

6. What holiday tradition have you carried on from your own childhood?
The opening of presents on Christmas morning is a tradition I have carried over from my childhood. As a child we would always drive to the coast to see my Grandparents on Christmas day. I wish we could do that now, but instead of a 3 hour drive it would be a 2 Day drive. We do however, call Mema and Papaw, Nana and Grandpa Jose.

7. Where would you go for a Christmas-away-from-home trip?

I would love to be able to do Christmas at Disney one year. I have never seen it at Christmas.

8. Check out GameStop and tell us, what are the three top items on your GameStop Wish List this year?
1. I would love to get the Kinect for my step kids who have an Xbox 360.
2. My husband would love Gran Turismo 5 for the PS3
3. The PS3 Move.

Book Wreath

Here is another craft project I have been working on... a Book Wreath!! I have seen them done different ways and they all look fantastic.

I am planning on making one more.
I like the simplicity of it and the easy way to make it work for any time of the year by just changing out the ribbon.

My wonderful Paper Tower will be delivered tomorrow afternoon. Can't wait!! Once we get it set up... I will definitely take pictures and post!

Carving Pumpkins!!

We had a blast carving pumpkins last week. However, I guess pumpkins don't last very long here in this Texas weather. They are already withered and moldy...and outside!! Haha!

Next year will will wait until just a few days before Halloween!

Doggies,Sheep, and Elephants..Oh MY!!

Everyone by now should know that I love to craft. I however, am not good at sewing. Seriously, I have a machine that someone gave to me and it took me a whole day to figure out how to thread the needle. So, A few weeks ago, I won a great giveaway by Angie at My Four Monkeys. (Great site by the way...you should definitely check it out!)
It was for a book called Sock and Glove by Miyako Kanamori. I am loving this book!!! It teaches you how to make stuffed toys out of socks and gloves. It is so easy and fun.

I have already made my kids 2 dogs, a sheep, and 2 elephants. Now, they are not perfect, but they are sooo cute and soft and have that good 'ole Rag doll kind of feeling.

The kids like them a lot. I already have request for a Cat and a Zebra!!
I also recently saw this book at my local Michael's craft store. It was $16.95. It is so worth it. This has been one of the best giveaways I have ever won. Thanks Angie!!!

I really love interior design.
This week I have been thinking a lot about entryways.
I am not exactly sure why... it may have to do with a baby shower
I went to this past week and the home was just amazing.
I don't have any pictures of the home.
I can say that the design for the home drew me in as
soon as the front door was opened.
I also keep saying home instead of house because it was warm, inviting,
lived in , and stylish... all at the same time.
So, here are some entryways(or items that can be used in a foyer/entryway) that I love.
Any of these would say to me ...Welcome home.

Did I say I love to craft?

I'm sure I have said that over and over again. I love to craft. It is my de-stresser, my boredome killer, creative urges, plus it's fun. Now, thanks to my wonderful hubby...I can craft till the cows come home (or at least craft faster and easier). How you say? He bought me a Cricut!
Yay!!! Can I get a Woot Woot!!!
Uh huh! Uh huh, uh huh uh huh uh huh!
Best Day Ever!(spoken in The Simpsons' comic book guy voice)!!

It is the original model and I found it at Michael's on sale for $85.00
(I know...I couldn't believe it either!!)

Right now these are the 2 cartridges I have at my disposal.

I love the Mini Monsters. I can't wait till Halloween! I have so many ideas.

I made these yesterday. The kids wanted to make something, so we had fun with our Cricut, markers, glue sticks, crayons, etc...

I'd show you the kids creations...but, they are a surprise for daddy.
(Who is coming home today from Richmond!!Yay!)
This machine is so easy and so much fun. Thanks Babe!! (And yes, We can still get your Madden NFL '11 for the PS3. I know it's your own de-stresser :) Woot! Woot!)

My daughter fell yesterday onto the concrete. Just tripped over her feet. Luckily, she had just gotten off of her bike and was wearing her helmet so it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been.

She is pretty tough and only cried for a few seconds. Then she was ready to play again.

This time inside on NickJr.com

Dylan's 3rd Birthday Party

Let me preface this by saying I wasn't sure what theme to go with for our daughter's 3rd birthday. She is not really into the Disney Princess thing ...yet. Her favorite thing right now is Charlie and Lola. Well, those items are hard to come by on late notice...so, if she is still as interested next year. I will plan ahead and order online.

So, I was searching on the internet a while back and I came across a site that showed how to make these cute little dolls. I honestly can't remember the site... so, if by some chance you know it(or recognize these) let me know so I can give credit to person who deserves it.

I decided to use these dolls as the inspiration for my decorations.

I also used the trees from this post and decorated them with fabric flowers and of course more dolls. I really liked the way they turned out.

I even incorporated the dolls onto her Party hat.
(which I found at IKEA)

And also, on the Cake.

Here it is with balloons and presents.

(The doll and stroller were her early birthday gift from her
Mema and Papaw while we vacationed with them in NC.
She named her doll Lola.)

Since it was just the 4 of us...
I didn't go over the top with decorations but, she really liked it.

She couldn't wait to use her new Little Tikes Shopping Cart.
It really is the cutest thing.

Charlie and Lola even showed up!!!

Pretty good 3rd birthday. We love you Dylan!!

We love you so much .

The first 3 years have been so much fun.

Thank you for our hugs and kisses everyday.

Thank you for making us smile and laugh.

Thank you for reminding us how much fun bubbles and balloons can be.

Thank you, Dylan, for just being you.

Happy Happy Birthday , Beautiful Girl!!

Back From Vacation....

We had a great time on our vacation this year. We were able to spend 2 awesome weeks with my Mom and Dad in NC. We did the beach almost everyday, ate out, shopping, visited the aquarium , played putt-putt, drove go carts, swam at the pool, had a small b-day party/cookout for the kids, played many games of Rummy, Kings Corner, Chicken Foot Dominoes, Phase 10, Rummikub, and had a few road trips in between. It was a long drive...over 20 hours each way, but the kids did great. We are already planning our trip for next year. Thanks Mom and Dad for a great 2 weeks. We love and miss you already!!!

Blocks and Trees

When I'm bored or just in a blah kind of mood, I like to make things.
Crafting makes me happy.
I would really like to have one of those new Silhouette Machines or a Cricut Expression.
Right now, neither of those are within my budget.
One day.Hopefully soon.
Anyway, I have gotten the crafting bug lately and here are 2 things I have been able to make.

The Be ...Blocks

I was able to make these blocks with the help of some great ladies at church. I think they turned out great. They say Be... Grateful,Humble, Prayerful, Positive, Involved, Still, Smart, True, and Clean.

These I made just for fun. I need to go and buy some more moss for the tops. I wasn't exactly sure of what I was going to make so I kind of ran out of supplies. Not too bad for my first try...and I had fun.
