Merry/Christmas/Happy New Year...and a broken down car

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays....

We are now in the new year but I would like to document about our adventureous Christmas roadtrip to Arizona. We had a great time on the way there. We left a day early to drive from Des Moines to Omaha so Z could get in one last day of work before his vacation... also, there was another winter wonderland storm coming through so we wanted to bypass that as well. The drive from Omaha to Arizona was great...the kids had fun..Zebastyan was able to play with his new Christmas present (PSP)early ,along with his DS ...and Dylan watched movies on daddies laptop. The weather was nice and we didn't hit anymore snow until we reached flagstaff. We also had a great time in Arizona. We stayed at Grandpa Jose's house and Zhariff was able to spend a lot of time with his kids. We were able to visit some of our friends from our old ward and attend Sacrament on Sunday as well. Christmas Eve we all made impenada's and the kids opened presents. Zebastyan said it was his best Christmas ever. He got a BB gun... all Z and I kept saying to each other is "you'll shoot your eye out","you'll shoot your eye out"...haha.Thankfully, he has not shot his eye out...yet! So we were sad but our trip was coming to an end so we were planning to leave the 27th to drive home. We left as planned but didn't make it home until 5 days later. As we were 2 hours away from our first nights stop the car overheated and threw us into a "Groundhog Day "(the movie) spiral that seemed would never end. I won't go into specifics but let's just say we were in a town with no knowledge of foreign vehicles , no rental car companys(closest was eighty miles away) and no uhaul available other than a 26 ft truck and trailer . We faced many obstacles but at every turn Heavenly father was there to help us. He helped one of us be strong while the other was at the breaking point..he had friends and family members give us their support as well. I am glad the we are now home, the car is fixed, and Zebastyan is back in school... well, not today because it is -25 degrees outside with a windchill of -37. But atleast we are all home and safe . It will be a trip we will never forget. Next year ,we will be on our way to NC...I wonder what adventures await us then...
